I've looked all over the forum and can't find an answer, or maybe overlooked it somehow.  I am exporting OMF files from Sonar for a collaborative effort with a friend using Pro Tools.  I have found that OMF version 2 works the best, and you need to combine takes for the tracks to line up properly.  No big deal really.  My problem is that the midi files are missing completely.  I want him to have control over the midi files. (Drums, specifically)  I inserted SD, programmed the arrangement, then copied the midi clips into a separate track and combined the clips into one.  Still nothing.  Any ideas?  Thanks-

From http://www.cakewalk.com/D...help=Recording.35.html

The OMF file does NOT supply the following data and information:
Volume and pan envelopes—OMF does actually support limited automation. However, as with Nuendo and most other OMF host programs, gains and pans are ignored (on both read and write) in SONAR as they are only supported on MONO tracks (OMF limitation).
    Plug-in effects.
    MIDI data
    Tempo

thanks scook, 9 months after the fact.  I found the answer elsewhere thus never came back here, and I apologize.  My use of the forums is limited, as I like to derive the solutions myself, and avoid the trolls.  I see I have a similar example a couple of months ago.  I do however have a new issue if you can address that?  I'll stay tuned...

I do this all the time make the omf and save a midifile, send them both to your friend.
All i do is open the omf in Pro Tools then import the midifile as well and you have it all in Pro tools now.
Peace
