Just loaded 2016.10. Two full-on crashes with fault reports automatically sent to Cakewalk. Addictive Drums 2 no longer working. Drum maps seem to be corrupt. Other synths seem to be hit or miss.  My system has gone rather unstable.  Some projects seem to work, others not so much.  May rollback.

maybe you could try reinstalling the update, perhaps you should first delete any files that ccc downloaded specifically for this update, assuming you used ccc, although i guess ccc would most likely check for corrupt downloads before installing, you would find the location of those files in the folder pointed to in the ccc's options/path settings.

may be worth a try

I rolled back to 2016.09.  Didn't seem to help. It only seems to crash on certain projects. I will reinstall 2016.10 again and see how it goes. One thing...  First time I tried 2016.10 had Lounge Lizard loaded in a project but wasn't even using it. However SONAR wouldn't even open it (that is, it just shut down altogether, right away). So I used safe mode to skip that synth.  Then it opened OK but AD2 wouldn't sound. (Didn't crash, but wouldn't play).  Opened another project with AD2 and it did work, but some other synths didn't then it crashed and sent a report.

I've gone forward to 2016.10.  Still problems.  Some projects that have been running rock solid for many months are now kind of "iffy".  Already had a few crashes but didn't bother to send a report.  (There's already three sent) I'm not doing anything special to cause these crashes.  Just hit play and let 'er run for 30 seconds or so then... bye-bye (full crash). Another time it will make it all the way through.  It was all solid for months until updating to 2016.10 this morning. Now my SONAR is a very precarious thing.  Can't go forward, can't go back.

Auugh...don't you hate that! What OS are you using? Windows didn't update anything did it? Is there a system restore point you could roll back to?

Fwiw I have been caught in this position in the past, so now I always take a disc image of my OS hard drive using Acronis true image before updating. It only takes 15 mins and it has saved me many times.

if rolling back didn't help, it might be time to suspect something else.
an HD, bad RAM, video card driver update.
some system specs wouldn't hurt either.

Yep could be system problem.  but its just highly suspicious that these problems stared immediately after I updated to 2016.10.  I admit to also updating my Platinum Instrument Collection at the same time. Could that have anything to do with it? Hmmm. There's no rolling back on that.  System Info...

Lots of older projects are crashing with the message below: (BTW, I rolled back the Platinum Instrument Collection to the only earlier version there was.... it makes no difference). Yesterday life was good. 2016.10 brought my world crashing down. I understand I may be only one this is happening to.

Why can't I just paste an image into this forum?  Everyone else seem to be able to do so.

They are loading the image to imgur or some other image hosting service and then using the image tags around the link to the image.
