Hi
I am a long time user of Soundforge to work on samples, fix misc stuff in audio takes, master...

Soundforge was sold by Sony to Magic corp.  I bought an amp sim from them ages ago and they never updated the software.  While I do not know it to be the case, I assume that they are going to "milk" soundforge and not reinvest in it.

What else is out there?  Wavelab is way more than I need.  And I was a Cubase user for a while (VST 5.1-Cubase 3) and got to hate the company for a lack of support.

I have tons of files from Soundforge, tho I think i have mostly rendered them to stereo audio tracks (at work and cannot look right now).

Thanks

Audacity may work for you.
I was in the same boat with Soundforge.

I too am in the seemingly leaky Soundforge boat - keen to hear options.

I had an early version of Wavelab many years ago which I quite liked until Soundforge edged ahead with format support. Unless I am missing something Wavelab just seems massively overpriced now.

Thing about Soundforge, and I have Pro 11, is it does have some very decent features, batch processes, Meta tagging, CD Burning (through CD Architect) etc. It's going to take a pretty impressive program at a very good price to convince me to stop using it.

I suspect Magix will have to look at stuff like 64 bit processing if they're going to keep it relevant.. who knows, but for now, SF11 is still pretty powerful, so I'll stick with it for the time-being.

I actually still use CD Architect for burning as it is a separate program from Soundforge although they were packaged together.
Don't really remember how I re-installed it on new computer.
If anybody here with Sounforge needs help with that, I could probably dig up how I did it.

Ok Just looked it up.
The original CD Architect is still available through your account.
For anyone who might be helped by this.

I'm still on an old SF.  You don't need to update if your version works; it is still the old loveable SF you always knew.

Thanks. My issue is that I have a new PC. I need the new sf install. I contacted majix to see, but I'm not sure of what obligation they have. Btw I don't see vandall on their site any longer. Bad sign for support.

Have you tried your Sony account https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/myaccount/home?returnToView=/myaccount/mysoftware? I just checked. All of my Sony purchases and serial numbers are still there. SF10 works fine on Win10 so I have not looked for a replacement.
