Do we have a noise profiler and noise remover plugin within Sonar ? Something like whats built-in within, say, Audacity ?

Now I know plugins like Waves and others, so please I am not looking for suggestions to buy new plugins. All I need to know is if there is any within Sonar that I am missing / overlooking.

No.

Audacity's Noise Reduction effect is in essence a multi-band digital noise gate.
Similar results may be possible using a multiband EQ like the QCEQ in the PC.
Or the Sonitus Gate side chained through the Sonitus EQ.

I think the op is talking about a feature where the program takes a "noiseprint" from a section of a clip that doesn't have signal (e.g., hiss, hum, or any constant undesired sound), then subtracts that from the entire clip.

Spot on there Craig. That's exactly what I am looking for. The key is "...entire clip." Its not about removing noise sections alone. The "noiseprint" as you say or noise profile gets removed from the whole clip including where its mixed with the main signals.
Can't fathom that when some free and low-end applications have this quick feature, why can't this be included in Sonar. One can argue that why don't I just get this done in other applications. Well, two reasons :
1. Its hinders workflow and consistency.
2. I tried this for a clip in Audacity and found that some change / artifacts in the resulting sound occurs which I am sure won't happen if done within Sonar due to Sonar's much superior sound engine.

We sure need to have this in Sonar.

So you are opposed to using a currently available free 3rd party plug-in? Artifacts are a byproduct of this type of processing.

I am not opposed to using external plugins Steve. Its just that having it within Sonar will surely make workflow and quality of the output much better. I seriously doubt if certain artifacts or audio inconsistencies that occur within external applications will occur if done within Sonar.

As another instance, in another external application, I think audiodirector (of cyberlink) a small yet significant lag got created in the timeline of my audio clip after I did some processing which was completely non-time related. Now, if I could get to do the same processing within Sonar, such a thing would most definitely not occur.

I an not talking about an external program but a VST plug-in.

You contradicted yourself by saying a Audacity can do this why can't Sonar?? Then you said that it didn't work very well. Sonar could add another useless plug in too.. but who would use it,, it won't work.

The answer is this type of software does not come cheap
 https://www.izotope.com/en/products/repair-and-edit/rx.html

This is why Sonar does not include it,, the price of Sonar would double.
The tool for the job is found in many Wave editors, Audacity is free so you really can't expect it to include a $300 plug in.
And the way it works is you add a Wave editor to your tool menu and this will be integrated into Sonar and your workflow will not be slowed down.

Sorry there. You have any suggestions for available good free plugins that perform reasonably well ? I know they may not be near as good as a $300 plugin, but if it betters my workflow and consistency, I will give it a try before splurging big bucks on the likes of izotope and equivalent.
