  • [Edit] Problem with Waves Plugins in SONAR

I've been experiencing a problem that I never had before I installed the Abbey Road bundle. After working on a file for a while it seems like some buffer is filling up and the more I work on a project I start getting dropouts and glitches. This has nothing to do with adding tracks. As a matter fact, I just deleted about 16 tracks from one project and right after the edit I started getting the glitchy playback, so it seems to me like it's some sort of buffer that is filling up or perhaps a memory leak? Although my ram meter looks fine, my CPU meters go considerably higher after the edit all across the board. Any ideas?

When I mute Addictive Drums 2, it's still there, but not as bad, so it seems to be related to AD2 or at least it makes it worse.

I use Waves VST3 versions exclusively and haven't had a problem since Sonar X3c. Don't have Abbey Road, but they should be using the same WaveShell. Are you running VST2 or 3? I think it's still recommended not to mix them.

Just got off phone with them. They did a cleanup of my computer including registry and I'll have to reinstall later today. I'll report back, but the problem is definitely Waves related, not SONAR's fault.

They have great support, I'm sure they'll get you sorted!

They do, but what they had me try did not work. I have to call back tomorrow. I'll report back after I talk to them again.

I can tell that Abbey Road Plates are a hog. A few instances and crackles will happen. I don't have the bundle but you will most likely have to raise your buffer. I have an issue where the Abbey Road Plates cause the track it was on to redline and kill the sound. They sent me an updated version of the plugin which fixed it. I am sure it's the version you have. Ver 9.6.47.1 build 73594

Mosvalve,
The culprit is indeed the plates plugin! The strange thing is that it will work fine for days and all of a sudden I start getting dropouts and glitches. This last time everything was working fine and I decided to delete 17 audio tracks that I didn't need that had plugins in them. Once I deleted the tracks, I started getting dropouts and it turned out to be the plates plugin. So although I'm using fewer resources than I was before, the plug-in seems to be malfunctioning. It really is strange. It happens also after I make changes to a project, like equing or adjusting other tracks that don't have the plate plugin.

Check to see if it is the version 9.6.47.1 build 73594. This version solved the problem I mentioned but I still have crackling issues with just a few instances of Plates.

I'm not in front of the computer anymore, but if that is the latest version then that's what I have because I downloaded and reinstalled everything today with the link they sent me.
