Pan not working on some tracks

I can't figure out why, but on a few tracks (vocal) sent to me I can't pan them left or right, unless i send them to a bus.Any idea what's up with this?..

sonar jumps back to start

When I stop the project at whatever measure , just as an example say 24, after starting and stopping with the space bar a time or 2 the project suddenly jumps back to the beginning!! Really annoying! WTF..
