What happened to "CTRL" + "DRAG CLIP END TO STRETCH TIME"?

I believe I used to be able to hold down the "CTRL" key and the end of the clip would go from blue to yellow and you could stretch the time of the clip...Where did this go? clicking noise at the beginning of a clip when i split clips

i am new here but i have been using sonar 8 for a few years and for the life of me i cant seem to figure out how to split clips without it adding a click sound at the beginning of the clip that was split. has anyone had this issue? is there a setting i might have wrong? i cant seem to figure out how..

Sonar's UI scaling is not very good.

So I went out and spent a chunk of change on a 32" IPS 4K monitor for my DAW.
