Midi recording wave file problems

i have Sonar Artist on my laptop going to a Roland 1680 digital recorder,, when i record a wave file synced up via Midi i'm having 2 issues first issue it stops printing wave file after about 5 minutes even though the track still armed & the meters still showing signal & nothing has stopped?..
