Platinum creating tiny 4 KB wav files???

Why is Platinum creating all these tiny 4 KB wav files and placing them in my global audio folder? All with names like this Rec (1).wav Except the numbers go from (1) to (88) They're in groups of 8. 8 files have the exact same date,etc. Today I was working on a song and went to it's project fold..
