Saving too often

HELP!! Please.Using X1 Producer. I have a simple 6 audio track project that I just recorded. No plug ins or effects added yet. Plenty of computer power. I Just split one track in 5 places and the software started several LONG saving processes preventing me from doing any other work.Thanks...
