Sonar X3 Producer Keeps Crashing

Having a problem when I record anything, it freezes when I stop recording. Says "record busy" on the recorded track and takes 5 min. to render and unfreeze. I get so bored of deleting silent parts in clips, then fading in and out the remaining clip sections to avoid pops, etc. Is there a way to select a section, delete it, and have the clip before and after it auto fade in and/or out a few milliseconds?
