How do I set default VST instrument that's not TTS?

Every time I open a .mid file, TTS attaches itself as the default VST, instead of Sound Canvas VA. I removed everything but SCVA from Preferences > File > VST Settings, but TTS still appears even after closing and re-opening Sonar. How do I make Sound Canvas VA the default VST?..
