Is SONAR actually an acronym?

I noticed that Cakewalk always capitalizes SONAR at all times. This often indicates an acronym. Since the creators were obviously clever beasts I was wondering if maybe there is a specific meaning behind it. Jump In Latency

can't figure out why I can't hear my input in record mode

Mouse movement crashing audio

Accessing ProChannel modules parameters using TouchDaw Android App

Ever since we went to X2 I think maybe X3 I have latency problems.
