Sonar 8.5 Producer: Recording on top of a Section of Looped Material

I'm making this song where I've constructed a drum beat that basically loops continuously throughout the entire project. However, I want the rest of the audio to go forward while the drum beat stays looped. Is there a way for me to achieve this recording on top of a loop? If so, what do I do?..

SONAR Platinum not showing renewal...

I was one of the early-renewal participants, and my Cakewalk account shows I'm good thru next year.However, SPLAT itself still shows that my membership ended on 21 January. Anyone else seeing this?..

Huge spike in first core in the CPU meter

I think I've seen this mentioned before, but my CPU meter in SPlat is showing huge spikes since the last update. I'm only using one instance of Kontakt 5 with two instruments loaded in it. That's it. Is it possible to record in Sonar with a Headset mic? Does it need to be USB like a Logitech H340 or 390 or can it be an 1/8" mic jack plug type of headset?
