difficulty hearing self while recording

Im sure I must be missing something quite simple, but I or anyone else in my little studio has trouble hearing themselves in the phones while recording. The headphone amp is quite cranked, I have dim soloed the backing tracks, meter on recording track is hitting around -12 and it is still difficult ..

New Mix module

Something I've not seen anyone mention, and isn't mentioned in the update information, is that Ipswitch has a redesigned mix module in the control bar. It's a bit of a weird one; like they've "un-designed" it; made it a bit less at-a-glance readable. Anyone else noticed this?..

Hi.Im probably missing something really obvious here.......but, in the CCC i see 'Sonar Local Documentation' which gets updated with every release. Im assuming its an update to the reference manual? If Im right, where do i find the updated version once ive allowed the update? Regards..

"Busy" for a long time after recording a track (Solved)

Since installing Hopkinton and now Ipswich (I skipped G), when I stop recording an audio track it's "busy" for about seven seconds before the track is ready. [Updated] Significant performance improvement for me today.

I though I'd share something with people in case they are interested. I discovered today that Windows accidentally disabled the device in device manager -> System Devices -> High Precision Event Timer. Apparently this is quite a common problem, I confirmed it shouldn't have been disabled in my case..
