Using Sonar for 5.1 to Stereo conversion- anyone have experience?

It's easy enough to bring in the 6 channels and route them through a stereo bus/project, but I know Center channel suppression and other phase related problems can occur.Any words of wisdom or resources to point to?..

Quick questions about latest version

I'm on X3e, and rather than pore through all the latest features in the newer versions, I'm only really interested in a couple things, and am wondering if these are improved, as they are the only reasons I would upgrade. Sonar Command Center is ignorant?

Is the Sonar Command Center ignorant of what I already have installed from prior versions of Sonar? Seems "dumb" that I have to figure out what is "new" component, and what was already installed from prior versions X1, X2, x3, etc)...
