symptoms: loud popping noise; recording synth to audio track - skips, poor quality

Hi all, Title says it all. When I start play or recording, I hear a popping noise, rather loud. Also when I mix synth to an audio track it sometimes "skips" like a record skipping, or I'll hear slight distortion. This is a piece with 11 synth tracks 4 buses, automation, 4 audio tracks. [Update] Gibson Les Paul Gold Top mess everywhere and Boost 11 still installing to C drive

SI-string section - appears in Sonar 64 Bit but not in Sonar 32 Bit Platinum - why ???

Step Sequencer - Can I expand more than one row?

I thought I had done this before, but can't see how. Can I expand more than row in Step Sequencer to show the velocities for more than one row. I'm guessing I can do this, but would be nice if I could double expand a row, to show say velocity and time offset at the same time..

Audio Drivers missing from Sonar

No sure what I've done here. Opened Sonar today but it's can't see my audio drivers. Preferences>Audio>Devices is empty. Neither my onboard soundcard or my Quad capture is showing. Dorchester much more unstable than Cambridge.
