Audio Issue w/ Groove Loop (Platinum)

Groove Clips - what are the downsides?

I am looking at the Groove Clip function. There seem to be a lot of good reasons to use. Any downsides? Why not just use them by default for all clips? And is there any way to do that - set Sonar X3 so that any clip I create is a Groove Clip to start?..

Lost CD of old Sonar?

I'm still on 8.5, and recently got to thinking, what happens if I lost everything in a fire - my computer, all backups and installation CD's? Is it possible to download this version of Sonar? I assume the CD's don't exist anymore...
