Midi track apparently mutes previous recorded clips while recording

Hi there, Working with Sonar Artist. I record a couple of measures on a midi track. After listening I want to continue recording the melody, but once I hit the record button I don’t hear what I just recorded anymore. Worked With Sonar 7 PE before and never had this kind of problems.
