Should I have to use PDC when triggering softsynth with external midi controller?

I'm triggering a soft synth with an external keyboard connected to a midi hub (connected via usb to computer). I don't remember having to do this with X3 but now with SPlat I get terrible latency unless I turn on PDC. If I bypass all effects the latency goes away as well. There must be something I'm..

SONAR Home Studio, Windows 7 Home 32 bit.I am going to record accompaniment. I hear sounds from current track, and from previous tracks, when I press a key on the my MIDI keyboard.I have to make recording track SOLO, But I can;t hear sounds from previous track.What can I do?Thanks..

Punching in and out..... (Resolved)

When I set the punch in and out points using the feature in the control bar, there is some recorded audio just after the out point that gets deleted or is not heard for a moment until it kicks back in. I need to get out of the punch immediately. Doesn't get right out. Please help..
