Playing MIDI controller while minimizing SONAR

Hi all, May I check if it is possible to play the MIDI controller even when the SONAR window is minimized / or when one is opening another program (e.g. web browser)? I used to be able to do it, until I routed the sounds via audio interface / mixer and after doing so I realized everytime I minimized..

Step Sequencer Values

Hello, I was wondering if there is anyway to dial these in a bit more accurately. I have exact value (1-127) amounts I want for each note, but using the draw tool is extremely difficult.
