Are Keyboard shortcuts and Macros the same thing? or is there a difference?

I have been looking through the shortcuts for Cakewalk, Reason, Reaper, Realband and Biab. The way short cuts are organized between Sequencer companies is very different. So my feeling is that Reaper has the clearest Labeled Short cut and I will use that as the guide to learning the shortcuts involv..

ins File Structure / Possible Improvement
