Using plus and minus to adjust volume and pan. Did something change?

Larger transport stop button going grey

I have a fairly large project running at around 65% cpu and virtually everytime I hit the play button in the large transport view it will start to play but the stop button is greyed out. I have to hit the spacebar to stop. Has anyone else seen this or is this a known problem?..
