Music Creator 7 Metronome lags

Hi all, when trying to record a track, there seems to be a random lag with the software metronome. Notes in Staff view are the wrong font or image

When I first installed Music Creator 7 it the staff view worked the way it has since the days of Cakewalk Home Studio. But all of a sudden after updating the software to 12.0.1.34 the notes in the staff view are displaying incorrectly and I can't seem to find a way to fix it. Everything still works ..
