Bass preamp

Hi folks, I've got an octa capture and a fender p bass... would it be very beneficial to get a bass preamp? I currently just use the hiZ input. I also use amplitude ampeg. Thanks..

Experience with UA cards and their related plugins

Anyone using one of these systems? I've been thinking about taking the plunge, but I don't know much about what capacity each SHARC chip can handle. Obviously the more the better, but the price curve is pretty steep. Just wondering if anyone else is using this system and how many plugs each card can..
