PCI versus PCIe

I don't keep up with tech so much these days so I have a question. My computer (a Dell Inspiron 3668) has one PCIe x16 slot and two PCIe x1 slots. My interface converter calibration

I can't seem to get a grip on all this +dbu and -dbu =0dbu stuff. What I want to be sure of is what would be the best recording input level for my interface to avoid clipping the converter. My Motu 828MKII Hybrid Max line input and output is +20 dBu. Therefore analog reference is 0dB VU = +4dBu =..
