Audio over Fiber with SDI fiber extender as ancillary data

Hi guys, I have singlemode fiber run from PC to PC and two Matrox Mojito I/O MAX audio cards, I thought I could use SDI over fiber extender for transporting audio from one point to another, do you have any experience with audio over SDI?
