88.2K - How come I never hear about it any more?

I remember people used to recommend this because it was easy to convert to 44.1 for the final, but gave the benefits of higher sample rates. I never see it mentioned any more. Am I just not looking in the right places?..

I used to have a surround system which would bring out parts in songs I never realized were there. 2 Drummers, How would you approach panning

Had a session the other day where the client had the drummer do a second pass to play on top of the first part... with a two drummer sound in mind. Not sure yet if this second part will be used or not. It does beg the question though as to how one might approach panning. Any thoughts?..
