Hi Patrick,

very nice tune. I really like it. At last some more modern music in this rather old fasioned forum. (duck)

Since it's a rough mix, I won't comment the mix. Be sure to repost it when it's ready.

Pat - I thought of a lyric change that would be really significant for this song.

The lyric "She set fire to my wet heart." should be changed to "She set fire to my wet fart."

Thanks,

Interesting...

I shall re-record the vocal this evening. Thanks for the excellent and 100% mega brilliant suggestion!

Pretty much. Pat told me to cut all that jazzy crap out and make it rock. I re-track some last night and will listen again tonight to make sure it kicks sufficient a$s.

that was my wife, yes. She doesn't think she sings well, but to be honest I have only ever heard her sing when she wasn't just clowning around. I don't know if she has a nice voice or not!

Does she ever sing just messing around; like in the shower? You should mess around and record her sometime without her knowing.

Hey did I mention I think it's pretty smart the way you used the upper harmony part along with the phaser part? The mixture of those two parts has an unintended positive effect. It's most noticable over the B chord where the phaser part suggests a B7sus4 - B7 and the upper harmony is playing a B followed by a C#. It gives it that sort of sympathetic 9 chord feel. Totally unintended on my part, but really, really cool the way you stumbled onto that. Do you like it?

Thanks,

I do like that, but last night I was experimenting with adding the melody line at the end as well. However, after reading your post, I might change it back. I will try to listen tonight. I was in the middle of working on it when my wave hammer plugin crapped out on me and I spent a while trying to figure out why. turned out to be a documented sound forge bug, but by the time I finally found it and sorted it out it was pretty late. pissed me off. I hate wasting time like that, especially since I will be leaving in 3 days to go on a 2 week vacation in germany. no music for 2 weeks. does that count as a vacation???

I would think the effect I'm talking about would not be hindered by the presence of the of the melody - it was just more obivious to me with it out. So are the parts still working out for you?

Thanks,

yes, they work great. your guitar parts have really enhanced this song! Hopefully I will have time to put together another mix of it and post it before friday.

Ed sent me an mp3 of his bassline, and that also sounds great! I couldn't be more pleased with you two jokers!

Just got a chance to listen to the song today, didn't check to see how long it's been up. Very interesting changeups, not sure if this is more recently mixed with Dan and Ed's parts or if it's pretty much the original. Nonetheless, great job - the vox sit a bit forward in the mix for my taste, but other than that it's an immensely enjoyable tune.

you are listening to the original. The Ed+Dan version is completely ridiculous and will hopefully be up this week! Thanks for listening! I am glad you like it!

Where do you go?

Northern Germany. My wife is from Peine, which is about a 20-30 minute drive from Hanover. We go to Hamburg often when we visit, but I am not sure if we will have time this time.

Where in Germany are you from?
