MC3 work with Guitar Rig 2

Well I was just wondering if guitar rig 2 worked with MC3.

Also i'm choosing my hardware to connect my guitar to my pc and wanted some opinions. Im thinking about going with the delta 44 sound card(http://www.zzounds.com/item--THKMIMD442) and the media man audio buddy preamp (http://www.amazon.com/MIDIMAN-Audio-Buddy-Microphone-Preamp/dp/B00006I5H4)

Do you think this will give me good sound quality along with zero to little latency? Thanks for the opinions.

Guitar Rig should work fine with MC3, but I have not tried it myself.

On the other hand, I own both the Delta 44 and the M-audio Audio Buddy. They are both really good pieces of equipment and you should be able to get low latency with the D44 - I can run at 5.8msec. The audio buddy is a good, clean pre with phantom power. Not the best, but excellent starter and great for the amount of money.

Thanks Beagle, So how is the real world performance of the setup you have. I mean I know we can quote numbers all day long but it comes down to real world testing for me. So basically when playing, is it like playing in real time or is there a slight noticable delay. Kind of like when a channel on tv has a slight lipsync problem(I hate that lol)

And also, what kind of computer hardware are you running. I was thinking a either a dual core amd 3800 or dual core pentium 4 3.0 also known as cheap space heater.

5-8ms is pretty much real time. Mere humans can't detect the delay at that speed.
If you are looking at a dual core machine, go for a core duo. You're right, 3g P4's run notoriously hot, and from what I've seen, the core duo's run circles around them.
For what its worth, I'm running a 2.4g P4 and so far, I haven't managed to outpace it.

Thanks for the input robert, I was mainly looking at those processors because of the price, usually between 140-160. I'll probaby go with the amd x2 3800 and overclock it a little. But I do agree, the core duo's are spectacular.

I have not had any problems at all with the D44 and the audio buddy for audio. I seem to be having a midi problem, but so far I've been able to work with it.

I'm using a P4 2.8GHz with 2G Ram. As Robert says, anything less than 8msec is not detectable by human ears. above 10 and most people can start to notice.

be careful about overclocking on the DAW I've read threads that OC doesn't always give good results when recording. do a search on the forums.
