MC5.05 - I cant get loop explorer to respond
Just got things loaded up this weekend and everything seems to be recording fine and editing fine but I just learned how to use to the loops explorer in my tutorial and find that it does not respond at all... mouse clicks get no response.. cant change output... nothing! I have the latest MC% update downloaded (installed it twice) but still nothing. Any help?

Doh is right! Its doing it again... I don't want to have to restart windows 3-4 times while I'm trying to add tracks and audition loops. Now its even telling me the Korg M1 plugin cant be found and it when I try to add a 3rd battery 3 track with a different kit it lets me play in the new kit recording but but song playback is always the 2nd kit sounds... ERRRRGGG! I have all the latest drivers and version 5.05 of MC5... I am running everything in compatibility mode so it shouldn't be a W7 x64 issue... Any ideas? This is really giving me a bad taste for Cakewalk. I'm thinking of trying Pro Tools M Powered now. Maybe I'll contact customer service and see if they will upgrade me to MC6 which is w7 x64 compatible. This program seems designed to do everything I want though... Im not a quitter but jeez it seems so buggy. HELP ANYONE?

What is the sound card you are using? MC is a pretty stable DAW when everything is set up correctly and the sound card is a good one. If you just bought 5, yeah call sales and see about the upgrade to 6 "Gratis"! To see the plug it needs to be registered in the plug in manager. Did you do that? Each synth instance should be totally independent of each other.... I don't know why you'd need to run 3 instances of battery..... but...depending on the computer and the soundcard, it should run OK

Yea I just emailed them to see if they would help. I use MAudio fast track pro on a i7 with 9g of ram. I have all the updated drivers and checked the plugin manager twice and even removed and reinstalled them to stop the pain. I like to layer 2 or 3 different kits together in battery 3 since I like to use my Korg Nanopad2 instead of programming in piano roll. It gives it a much more human feeling and sometimes mistakes turn out cool...lol. None of that really addresses the loop explorer glitch. Im thinkin its gotta be a w7 issue but I have everything in compatibility mode just like I read to do on cakewalks website. I just bought MC5 last month... maybe MC6 will keep me rollin with Roland... I hope so :)

I wish I could help, but the only time I ever open the loop ex is when someone here asks something about it and I usually can't give an answer even then. Just like now. Frankly, with all that memory under the hood, I'd go for a program that's 64-bit compatible. When running in 32-bit compaibility mode, you're restricted to about 3 GB of memory use, and while Music Creator 6 may be Win 7 compatible, it probably is not 64-bit. Check first.

Thanks for the listen, glad you liked "On The Beach". Let me think... I was playing around with some of the MIDI drum loops and patched together a beat I liked, about 8 measures. A few months later I decided to make it a song. The guitar is all me (with many, many punch ins) and the piano and the bass were played in on the keyboard (MIDI). Made a few edits of wrong notes and bad timing and added a few more drum hits, so the song is mostly me playing something. The piano is the grand piano patch of my Yamaha, the bass is the acoustic bass from Garritan Pocket Orchestra (Dimension LE). I don't recall where the drum sounds came from, either the Yamaha or Session Drummer 2.
