Hello suppaky_piano,
I do not have a Novation Impulse but the Novation Impulse website,https://us.novationmusic.com/keys/impulse#, states the Impulse can provide mixer control (all channels), transport control and VST instrument / effect control when used with Cakewalk / Sonar products.
I use a Korg nanoKRONTROLLER surface controller with Music Creator 6.  All I had to do was plug the controller into a usb port, openMusic Creator and go to preferences > surface controllers and select the Korg to enable it.

I hope you find this information useful.

Oh thanks, I already asked for this in other website and one guy said that the automap technology is just awesome and works very good, but he don't use Cakewalk products. Thank you.
