MCU Pro ..... new units will be getting "new" Faders ......

Just passing this on as I know there are quite a few  [ existing and potential ]  MCU / MCU Pro users around here.

I was speaking to a   [ very helpful ]  tech support guy at Mackie the other day and we got on to the topic of the " faders ".

As we know, the  current  MCU Pro P&G  [ designed-but-not-built-by ]  faders  were and are a big imporvmenet on the "older"  P&G  faders in the MCU [ non-pro ] models

Anyway .... also as we know ....... Mackie is currenlty re-locating a lot of their production and one of the affected production lines is the MCU Pro - thats why there havent been any new units become avaialble for several months and current production schedules wont see any new units until at least  Q2 this year  [ the reason why on eBay  2nd hand MCU Pro units are currenlty getting stupidly high prices ]

However what I didnt know - from speaking with Mackie - is that they are taking this opportunity to get  "different"  faders for the MCU Pro - these will not be P&G designed or licensed in nay way - other than that, thats all he said.

Now ....  whether " differnet "  means  "better" we will have to wait an see ..... but interesting to know either way.

I find it ironic that they are touting this as a good thing, when one part of my sales rep's pitch (I love my rep, so don't take this wrong) was the P&G faders were awesome and some of the best out there. :P
