MCU with 2 Extenders (not the pro)

I've looked and looked and can't find the answer to my issue. I've put the control surfaces in Sonar and it works. However, all three controllers are mirroring each other. All of them are showing track 1 thru 8.

Now, I found a post online that hinted at changing which unit controlled what set of tracks but the post didn't say anything about how to get into the properties to be able to change any of that. So that's what I need, I guess. Some details about how to actually get in and change that stuff or maybe even the place in the manual I can read about it...because I sure can't find anything about it.

Go to the main Window Menu Bar->Utilities-> Mackie Control 1 (or very similar)

That opens up the Mackie Properties box. Bottom right hand corner there's a "Configure Layout" button. Click on that and then use the first V-pot on each unit to set which tracks it controls.

Click on button when finished, job's a good 'un.

Brilliant!  Thanks!  I got stumped at first because it didn't work.  So I created a project and then did it and it worked.  Is it now global or is this a per project thing?

Also, are the faders supposed to reset after you stop the song/close Sonar?

This is a one time thing, once it's done forget about it.

Also, are the faders supposed to reset after you stop the song/close Sonar?

Not reset on song stop but they will follow automation, so if you stop the song and the project auto-rewinds to now time the faders will jump to the settings at that point, which could look lik a reset.

If you close Sonar the faders should stay where they were but if you then re-open Sonar they will snap to new positions depending on the project you open. For example a two track template will zero all faders except the first two which will snap to unity assuming that's the templates track defaults.
