MIDI Chorus and Reverb controls - can we have them back in the track manager please?

I think this is an example of the doctrinaire approach - if I can call it that - which X1 occasionally exhibits (with the best of intentions of course).
Previous versions had midi tracks' chorus and reverb controls in the wiidgets on the FX (or Custom) tab.  Now I have to press I to open the Inspector for the track, twiddle the knobs, close the Inspector.  This is obviously more longwinded when the controls used to be there in front of me in the track view.  It would be better if the option was reinstated in the track manager to enable viewing of the controls.

You have an option through the header by going to Automation and putting in an envelope for it or doing it right from the tool HUD.(automation).  Not quite the same but you can do it without changing your workspace.

What would make me happy (and consider leaving 8.5) is a fully-configurable track header, just like we used to be able to do with the main toolbar.

Let me put the reverb, chorus and transpose controls back for MIDI tracks. Let me put the phase and interleave buttons back on audio tracks. Give me back the maximize button on both. Let me make the FX bin wider so I can read what's in it. Don't ever force me unnecessarily to go to the Inspector.

As Skyline says, "best intentions", but we all know what they say about best intentions. I understand the desire to un-clutter the track headers. The mistake was in deciding on our behalf what constitutes clutter versus what's desirable information.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I completely agree.  They could leave the leave the controls they perceive as "cluttery" hidden by default, but allow us to toggle them back on via the view configuration.

If the X1 developers say it's "too difficult" to add back what they took away, then let's hope the recession ends soon so that Cakewalk can hire some more energetic developers.

If the X1 designers say it's "too messy" to add back what they took away, then let's hope their hatred of Windows gets the better of them and they go back to working at Apple.

If the X1 marketers say it's "too soon" to add back what they took away, because feature restoration is a main selling point of X2, then let's hope they all get run over by a stereo bus.
