MIDI Controllers change tracks on restart

I can't seem to find an answer here if there ever has been one. I have two keyboards and a Trigger Finger set for specific tracks in my projects. More often than not, when I close and reopen a project, the assignments have changed. Is this an issue with Sonar (Studio 8.5.3/X1 Producer trial) or is it a Windows USB issue?

In a related issue, I can't seem to be able to find the Track Inputs dialog in the X1 Producer trail. Where is it?

first, make sure you're saving as a project file and not a MIDI file.

also, make sure that both the trigger finger and the keyboards are all powered on and completely booted up before starting sonar.

if those conditions are met then sonar shouldn't be changing your inputs on the projects.

track inputs dialog?  are you talking about what USED to be OPTIONS>MIDI DEVICES?  if so, it's in the PREFERENCES.  press "P" on your keyboard.  you might have to click on the ADVANCED option to see it, I don't remember if it's considered advanced or not.

oh, I don't remember where that is in X1 and I'm not in front of my DAW to check right now.

I only have 1 MIDI device connected to my system at this time.  I've had multiples in the past but never with X1, I think.  so I don't know if this is a problem in X1 or not.  sorry I can't help more.

Put in a new motherboard and that seems to have fixed the MIDI assignments problem I was having.
