MIDI Guitar in Sonar Professional

Hey, guys. I have tried multiple times to persuade Sonar to recognize the MIDI guitar plugin, including putting the .dll in every VST folder I can find. Many scans and bad words later, I still don't have the plugin in available. The guys at Jam Origin say they had no trouble getting Sonar to see the plugin.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have used in X2 Producer through SONAR Platinum. I have no experience with SONAR Professional but expect the VST scanner is the same across all versions of SONAR. Make sure to use the appropriate version for the version of SONAR, IOW 32bit MIDI Guitar for 32bit SONAR and 64bit MIDI Guitar for 64bit SONAR. The plug-in should show up as an audio FX. Since you have tried scanning, try a VST reset http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013315/SONAR-X3-Full-VST-Rescan-Recommended-for-Upgraders (these instructions are for a different version but should work for Professional too). I have never had a problem scanning any of the initial MIDI Guitar betas, regular v1 releases or new v2 betas.

Make sure whatever folder the dll is going in is in a scan path defined in SONAR preferences File > VST Settings. The scanner recurses through the directories so there in no need to add paths which are under the ones already in preferences.

I also don't have any issues using Midi Guitar within Sonar as it immediately sees it upon installation. Scook has posted some great tips here, just follow them and post back with your findings.

Guys, thank you for all the input. I must say, I have discovered there is a magical property to this forum hitherto unknown. The last few times I have posted here, the problem I posted about just went away....poof. Sure enough, no sooner had I posted I, remembering that the popular definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result, AGAIN deleted all instances of the .dll, AGAIN replaced it in the Cakewalk VST folder, AGAIN scanned the VST's and,,,slap me with a fish....it worked!
The only reasonable conclusion is that the combined body of knowledge and experience living on this forum worked some sort of sorcery on my computer and produced a psychocyber miracle.
Although this response has been kind of tongue-in-cheek I truly do respect the corporate wisdom here, and the willingness of the folks here to assist numbskulls such as myself. Thank you again for your responses and great suggestions.

Dana, good to hear it's working!!
With a little bit of adjustment in the playing technique, MIDI Guitar is truly a fantastic tool for us non keyboardists. Alchemy is still my goto synth with MG.

Midi Guitar Rocks! I can't wait for the 2.0 release. As Mesh said it takes a bit of technique adjustment, but is worth the effort.    Dan
