MIDI Latency

Hey there. This is a great forum! However, I didn't find anything on MIDI latency. I'm running a 88-midi controller, thru MOTIF RACK, to Edirol UM-1, to my Pentium 4 computer. I can hear everything...everything works fine. However, after tweaking and experimenting, I can't get the latency problem fixed. It's very slight...however, when trying to record notation, it's very painful. Any hints?

Thanks!

I would suggest using the WDM drivers if not already, and adjusting the latency with the buffering slider move it to fast, and make sure that you have at least 4 buffers, and maybe set the sampling rate to 48,000 htz, that should tweak it a tad, it not e-mail me for more ideas.

I confess my ignorance - what is WDM driver and how does one procure this? I've experienced the same (slight) problem with MIDI latency. I use Project5, a Yamaha p-200, and a computer with 3 GHz processing power and 512 MB of RAM. Will getting this new driver set solve the problem? Thanks so much,

The WDM drivers should be in the card on the computer.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
