MIDI MIX TO AUDIO

IWANT TO MIX A MIDI FILE TO AUDIO THRU AN EXT SOUND DEVICE  IT WORKS. I CAN REC IT ONTO AUD TRK  BUT I CANT ROUTE IT TO MASTER BUS TO APPLY FX IN THE CONSOLE ANY IDEAS ?

    Hi steptimer - first, please don't use ALL CAPS, in a forum, that's considered yelling.

    2nd - this is not really the appropriate forum for your question, it's actually a question which should be in the Sonar Producer and Studio forum.  but we can probably help here anyway.  just for future reference, if the question deals with how to resolve issues with Sonar 8.5, then use the Sonar Producer and Studio forum.

    3rd - we'll need more details on your problem.  what "ext sound device" are you using?  and are you trying to record the audio output of a softsynth?  if so, which softsynth?  and if that's what you're trying to do, it's not necessary to "record" it unless you have a unique situation.

    are you trying to record a hardware synth?  if so, which one?  and how do you have things connected?  give us more details, please.

    The stereo sound is coming back into pc and can be rec onto stereo audio trk, but I want to edit the sound as it is being recorded.

    ok but you didn't answer all of my questions and I need to know a little more.

    what "ext sound device" are you using?

    To record your own sound and layer sound effect you can create your own music book or radio show, then you can convert in mp3 as well as wav files. Also you may be mix up old song in your sound.
