MIDI TRACK ICONS

My wife And I perform using Midi Backing tracks via Roland SD50...............and I edit such files frequently to improve performance nuances etc.
Track Icons....... in my  'Other Life'  (ie: Audio Recording/Production Processes) are a magnificent quick visual assistant.....rather than sussing out text descriptions each time. In AUDIO.......Works Fine!
However, Why is it, whilst editing a MIDI file and spending all of the setting up time to pick and load a visual rep of an instrument for each track .....then save as such........................I return next day to find the icons aren't there?
Simple question.
I assume a simple answer.............Maybe ;)
Cheers Frank In OZ
PS: To all our POMMY Muso Mates................we are with you guys OK !!!

MIDI files only contain data allowed by the MIDI spec. Things like track icons, plug-ins and other data unrelated to MIDI are stored only in Cakewalk project files.
