MIDI Velocity Fx issue, possible bugs?

I set velocity limit on all notes on a certain pitch, say a snare of a vst drums. Control right click to bring up midi fx and select velocity, set a limit value. The selected notes got limited just fine but other notes not selected got changed as well, by some random value. By random I mean I couldn't see a pattern, nor I can determine if all notes or only some got changed and by what value. Anyone seeing this? Thx

Did a quick test, and couldn't reproduce a problem. Only the note number(s) I selected got limited.

I change velocity values without issue in X3e, as well.

Please detail your steps and results - I can try your 'recipe' and see what happens.

I can replicate this issue over and over but while doing so I found a way to make it work. That is you must bounced all the midi clips so you only have one clip, then it behaves as expected.
    The detail steps:
I have a midi drum track, I click on a note to select all the notes for, say, the kick, verify that all the notes for the kick are highlighted, do a Cntr right click - midi plugins - cakewalk FX - velocity, in the velocity tool set a limit for the maximum value, say 65. Now I see that the kick was limit to 65 correctly, but I also noticed that other notes, say the snare was changed by some random value. In my case a section of 5 notes snare roll velo was 69 83 74 85 94, the fx changed it to 65 74 84 85 95. Other notes were changed too, like the hi hat, crashes.

Weird. Different kit pieces in different clips, or whole sections like verse/chorus in separate clips? I tried it both ways, and still didn't see a problem.

Aren't MIDI FX similar to audio FX in that they're either Clip or Track based?  IOW, when selecting a few notes from a clip, would the entire clip be affected and not just the notes selected?

    Whole sections.
Not sure if it has any bearing but the project with a single midi drum track/clips was created originally in 8.5.  i then open the project in X3e and do editing and finish it in X3e as I'm moving to X3.

There are 2 similar Midi Fx.  One is in the track's 'effect bin', this one will edit all notes in a track regardless.  The second, which I use here, is more like the old 8.5 "Process" that should affect selected notes only.  Even if it affect the whole clip, i would expect to see everything got changed by the same value or some predictable pattern, but in my case, the values are random.
