MIDI driver selected won't install

I am trying to get sound out of computer. Support said that MIDI sound was available with program before I bought. MIDI Output list "Microsoft MIDI Mapper" I click to select this & hit OK & program still says I am not selecting output. What do I do?

This is one of the strangest omissions in the help files supplied with MC3. This page should help you out quite a bit.

    Support page

I know it is referring to the program as Sonar, but it uses the same fix.

What sound card and driver mode are you using? You may not have a hardware synth to use, so you won't have any valid MIDI outputs to choose from. Not to worry.
Do tutorial #8 on using softsynths. The Edirol VSC(which comes with MC3) is a softsynth that gives you better sound than the integrated hardware synth would. You don't need a MIDI output when you use a softsynth. it sends its output directly to audio.
