MIDI input

Using an M-Audio controller.  Everything was working fine for months. Now some midi tracks receive midi messages and others don't even though all are set to the same controller. What am I not checking?

What happens if you select "All Inputs" instead of your controller? Also, do you see the problem only in a particular project or in all projects? Run a little test using the Normal song template.

Thanks for your response. I see the track is receiving the midi signal from the controller on the inspector view, but not on the console view whether I select all inputs or the controller. The softsynth I am using plays from recorded midi but I cannot record new midi clips unless I use the mouse in the piano roll. The problem is on all projects. Same results on a normal template.

Create several MIDI tracks (don't insert any synth) and check if the meter in each track strip responds when you play your MIDI keyboard. If you see the signal, hit Record and Sonar should record a MIDI clip even when no soft synth is used. You said you don't see the signal in the console view, so I just thought we should rule out the possibility of some problem on the soft synth side (What soft synth is it? Do you see the same problem when using Cakewalk's synths/instruments?)
