MIDI issue

I recorded a track using Toontrack's EZKeys, which I always use.   Everything works fine in the track except one part.  When it gets to a certain chord, the chord continues to play through the next chord, causing both to play at the same time.   The chord doesn't stop playing when it's supposed to.   And it only does it in this one place in the song.

I tried playing that chord over, but it didn't fix the problem.   Then I erased the chord and tried to draw it in manually, but that didn't work.  So I inserted a new EZKeys track and copied and pasted the old track into it.  That didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Greg

The stock answer to all midi related issues.. Increase your midi buffer from the default to a much higher number. I use 1000.

I increased the MIDI buffer size as you suggested, but it didn't help.   That one chord still keeps sustaining into the next chord.

    Possible answers:

    1. Check for unwanted MIDI controllers in the PRV Controller pane or Event list.

    2. Corrupted track. Insert a new track and re-record the part. Copy & Paste will retain any oddities going on under the hood.

Aside from that, hardware synths can send bogus MIDI data and occasionally need to be reset (shut off and on again). But as for softsynths… who knows.

I tried all the suggestions above, including inserting a new track and re-recording that one part.   I even tried freezing the track, but nothing worked.  So I inserted a new EZKeys track and recorded only that one part on the new track  (3 chords), deleting that part from the original track.  And that worked.
