MIDI notes not playing back properly

I am working on a song that has MIDI notes using Battery 3. I have imported my song from my old PC to my new one, yet all the notes in the PRV are not playing.. I am watching the dots and they are in good time, but sometimes they play, and other times they dont. (i.e - snare drum wont go off even tho the MIDI dot is in the correct place, but on a second playback it will play..but sometimes after that it wont...ugh!)  This project was originally created in WinXP Sonar 8.0, and my new PC is Sonar 8.5.3. I am using Win 7 64bit with 32bit version of Sonar.  Any ideas on why these notes are "somtimes" playing?  I hate to believe its a timing issue because the same exact project on the last PC had no issues.

I have tried messing with the quantize plugin and changed some of the offset, but weather I do or don't.. the notes just dont play back all the time.

Raise the "MIDI buffers...prepare using" (or something like that) in the Options dialogue. That should cure the random skipping of MIDI-notes.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Kalle,  I noticed this is only happening on Sonar 8.5.  In Sonar 8, there is no midi note skipping at all.  Is there a setting in 8.5 that is different in the way it handles midi playback?

*EDIT - I found it in the general options, but it is still skipping some notes.. I was able to raise the buffer to 128.  Its better, but not hitting all the notes, still skipping at random. Is it that the Arpeggiator may have something to do with this? Thats the only difference I see between Sonar 8 and 8.5.

Were you not able to raise the buffer more? I think the usable figures I've read about are much higher.

No I wasn't.  Sonar 8.5 only lets you raises to 128. I am not sure why 8.5 out of the box needs some extra MIDI configuration that 8.0 doesn't. No problems in 8.0 at all with MIDI playback.
