MIDI out VSTs does not work

Hi,
 
i've installed Sonar X3d Studio and don't get MIDI out from VST running.
I've tried different Settings and Routing but without success, including this one here:
 
 
I've tried the following plugins:
- Catanya Arp
- InsertPiz midiChords
- InsertPiz midiMonitor
- Kirnu
 
All without success, it seems that the plugins not even receive a note because they don't show any reaction.
Other Instruments like Zeta or Dimension work normal and also with the Cakewalk Midi FX!
Is there a hidden setting or is this a bug?

    Make sure there's an accompanying audio (synth) track and not just a MIDI track - either using a SIT or MIDI/Synth combo.   That's required in order to actually send MIDI out.   It definitely works with the Catanya demo this way.
