MIDI playback Skipping Notes

I am using Sonar X3e and have a midi score that I am trying to playback on my notebook.  There are a sequence of 1/8th notes and for some reason beyond my understanding some of the notes are being skipped on playback.  Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening and how to correct it?

Thanks,
 -Ken

The usual reason is the default value for midi playback buffer is too small. Usually 500 ms is enough. Maybe more for very dense midi.
Edit->Preferences->MIDI->Playback and recording : Prepare using [500] millisecond buffers.

That seems to have fixed the issue.
