MIDI routing question for Dimension Pro.

I don't know if I'm wording this correctly so I will give you and example of what I like to do.

I like to take midi tracks and import them. For example, I take the drum track and assign it to the output to Addictive Drums 2.1.
I do so without any problems.

When I try to do the same like assign the bass output to Dimension Pro, I can see the meter moving but no sound. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I've done it before and I'missing something

Any help is appreciated

The sfz engine synths, DPro, Rapture, Session Drummer and Studio Instruments go silent when certain data is fed to them. Either clean up the tracks using the Event viewer, filter out NRPN data using the MIDI Event filter MFX or open the plug-in properties in the DPro VST2 drop down at the top of the plug-in UI and check "Do not intercept NRPNs."

If you see midi activity blinking inside DP - it might be the key range the midi is.
Far from all presets are mapped over full keyboard range.

And DP only sense midi channel 1, unless running it as 4 part thingy.

In Sonar pre X-series there used to be a way to make all midi according to channel chosen.
But I think you need to use a Midi FX to make all event to midi channel 1.
Looking at midi event data you can see which midi channel is on these clips.

I deleted all tracks, exept drums, but no sound..I bounced midi, to dimension pro midi, no sound

In preferences cxl out sys ex, patch changes....what do i have to do, to  dim pro to play anythnig?

As mentioned above, DimPro has programs which do not have all keys mapped. There is a free program called sforzando that will load DP programs and visually displays which keys are active.

Additionally, not all synths map the same, so pulling MIDI from another synth into DP may require transposing.

Did you try either solution mentioned in msg #2 above. The sfz engine will shut down when certain data is encountered. Also make sure the notes are mapped correctly.

if sfz shuts down, do we have to reload dimP,as engine shut down permanently...

still, for simple drum track sounds strange...

also can somebody explain how to use midi filter...?

are you all in agreement that dim pro only sences midi #1? and how do we work aruound it
