MIDI screech/audio stutter and freeze
I'm not sure I can live with this any longer. For some odd reason, on specific projects, after some seconds of playback, the computer suddenly stops becoming responsive, and any MIDI sound is replaced with horrible screeches and squeals, and any audio starts stuttering. Eventually, everything just hangs, forcing a cold boot.
Like I said, this only happens on certain project files, some more often than others. I'd love to attach a specific one where it happens all the time, but I can't find that function on this forum. This didn't seem to happen on older versions of SONAR X1 Studio, or even X3 Studio. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
UPDATE: Problem solved, I think. As I said, I had had no problems before when I had X1, so I went ahead and re-installed X1 to see if the problem persisted there or not. It didn't. I then tried to see if any settings were different between X1 and X3.
That's when I found that X1 was using WDM, and X3 had defaulted to WASAPI. Now, I thought that I had tried different audio inputs on X3 before without much luck, but now that I'm using WDM, it works fine. (Perhaps all I had to do was re-introduce X1 to the system--I was starting over from a new hard drive)
