MKII, Sonar and 24 bit?

Just got a 2408 MKII to go with my MKIII and 424 card.
Trying to get the 2 to work together with Sonar at 24 bit.
Sonar seems to not work with the MKII at 24 bit. The MOTU Control
panel only shows the 2408 MKIII and 2408 (not MKII). MOTU Tech support
has been no help...does not respond to Tech requests. Same result if
I try tunning the MKII alone on the 424 card.

Should Sonar allow 24 bit with a MKII? Should the control panel
be reporting a MKII instead of original? Is anyone running a MKII
with Sonar at 24 bit.

Thanks, Denny

yes, it should run 24 bit, but if the MOTU control panel sees only the MKIII and not the MKII then you'll have to contact them for help.

the only suggestion I can come up with is to make sure you have the latest drivers.

Got the MKII working at 24 bit with the MKIII.  Found you have to re-profile each and every time you
change something.  I was juggling around a MKI (original), MKII and MKIII.  Apparently it is normal
for the MOTU control panel to display 2408 for both the original MKI and the MKII while displaying
    2408 MKIII for the MKIII.

Still wont work with the Tascam 3200 ADAT cards - only the built-in ADATs will work.  I think
those cards are just crap design in the clocking area.  Oh well, I get 8 more channels out
    of the deal.

good deal! (about the motus, anyway, I'm not fond of tascam software at all.  )
